Message Body:
I have been in construction for decades, my Uncle before me was a Master Builder.
I have many request from students of these companies for work experience leading to an NVQ. Surely that is the job of the training people. The alternative is a jobing plumber or sparky. Unless students, in the right trade, get an NVQ change trainers or better still don’t start school without a route to an NVQ. City & Gulds are only a theory training certifying group – not trainers and if they ever became trainers it would make the exams nothing short of a joke.
Our trade needs sorting out or we’ll end up opening up to EU trades people again – so wrong. Let’s build our future together.

We very much agree David, we also respect your right to withhold your full name.
Courses where you need to arrange your own final steps to a career are to be avoided.
Always ask the question, if you need an NVQ, can you confirm in writting you will gain access to NVQ in-site training after the theory tests – if you don’t you are left with a possible two or three years of low-paid or no pay work to gain your NVQ.
